Haynesville Shale Development
Kite Energy, LLC believes that shale gas represents the largest single source of recoverable natural gas reserves remaining in the USA.
Chesapeake Energy, in partnership with other companies, has discovered significant gas reserves in the Haynesville Shale in the Sabine Uplift area of NW Louisiana and East Texas. The potential is great for this field to be one of the largest gas fields to be discovered in the USA. The extent of this field could cover as much as 3.5 million acres.
In 2002 onshore unconventional gas became the single largest source of natural gas production in the USA and was expected to grow while other sources were in decline. Shale Gas plays remains largely untested with State of the Art completion and drilling technologies and cover huge areas of onshore basins. Kite Energy, LLC believes that today's Shale Gas production is only the tip of the iceberg.
